چکیده
Maritime transportation is the essence of international economy. Today, about ninety percent world trade carried out by sea through 50,000 merchant ships. Most these vessels are powered mainline diesel engines due to their reliability and fuel efficiency. Reliability system elements in general depends on random failures, significant wear during operation, additional start-up. Accidental damage engine components a major hazard as some parts (such cylinder liners pistons) usually replaced repairs. On other hand, preventive service does not eliminate malfunctions. Therefore, problem assessing engine, there mathematical durability, taking into account only failures its elements, which greatest practical importance. The purpose work study cylinder-piston group main dry cargo Using systematic approach probabilistic statistical method, it was established that most common difficult case simultaneous action element (for example, sleeve) factors cause period operation (including start-up period) accidental failures. It determined quality ships "Ostriv Rosiyskiy" type higher than "Simferopol" "Murom" types. Empirical formulas for estimating probability emergency failure between factory repairs were obtained, where danger Based results study, possible establish schedule periodicity maintenance ship's cost losses ship downtime can also be used types engines. make determine and, particular, damages series

The Analysis of Wheel Loader Diesel Engine Crankshaft Failure
The main purpose of this study is to review the cause for the crankshaft failure of six-cylinder diesel engine of a wheel loader after passing a short period of time. The failure had occurred after 4800 hours of in-service in the fifth crankpin of the crankshaft. Hardness and tensile tests were carried out to study their mechanical properties. Spectrophotometer machine was used to examine the c...
متن کاملCorrosion Failure Study in an Oil Cooler Heat Exchanger in Marine Diesel Engine
In this article, the failure of a heat exchanger during its operation in the marine environment has been analyzed. This heat exchanger was used for cooling the oil in a marine diesel engine. Based on the existing failure history, damages in engine components were observed after 89 hours of engine working due to the leakage of the sea water to the oil. For the objective of the failure analysis, ...
متن کاملReal-time Inspection and Monitoring of Marine Diesel Engine Mechanical Parts by Computer Vision
Marine diesel engines’ parts are under various loads, usually time-varying, during their normal operation. This causes complex dynamical state of stress, and can produce unwanted high deformations and degradation of material, give a rise to critical crack growth and, finally, to failure of one or more of the engine parts.. The effect is further emphasized by marine atmosphere. This paper propos...
متن کاملStudy on the Testing Method for Marine Diesel Engine
For the high-power low-speed diesel engine’s performance and reliability evaluation, this paper studies the engine’s running-in norms, presents the Test Scheme about the combustion process, the Inlet swirl control, the cooling system control, and the distribution and emission. The whole engine’s test methods and systems are established. By using the combined method of the test platform research...
متن کاملThermal Management System Analysis of Marine Diesel Engine
A lumped parameter model is developed to study performance of marine diesel engine thermal management system. One dimensional flow equations combined with classical Webie combustion model and Woschni heat transfer model are employed to describe diesel’s flow characteristic. Modeling results of heat release from diesel engine is validated against experimental data. Cooperated with experimental d...
